Today we begin. Today is the day we talk the talk of being His followers, and even wear the sign of his love as a Cross on our foreheads. Tomorrow and the days to follow, we are hoping to walk the walk.
I say "hoping" because like you and every other human being, I need to muster up some spiritual energy to enter into this season of honest and prayerful introspection. The heaviness of my own limitations and sinfulness can weigh me down. I would rather avoid or deny the reality to which Lent calls me.
I forget that in bringing myself to Christ, the heaviness disappears. He makes all things light. He who say, "Come to me all who are burdened . . . and I will give you rest . . . your burden will become light."
Today, I will go to Christ to be my energy and the source of my strength as I begin my Lenten Journey with Him.
Let us pray for each other as we begin to walk the walk. Blessings too!
