It is the time of year when our busy lives get much more busy and along with the coming cold weather, at least in the Northeast, we need to get ready to "chill out" internally as well as externally! We need to take the different seasons of our intellectual, emotional and spiritual lives, just as expectantly as we welcome the coming seasons of winter, spring, summer and fall.
The only way I can chill out in these inner ways is by living in the presence of God as much as I can throughout my day. I prepare myself for the unexpected bad news, disappointment, joyful greeting or success in one way that touches them all: I try to live with God all around me, as the beautiful prayer of St. Patrick states so beautifully. Christ be beside me, Christ be above me, Christ be below me, Christ be around me . . . EVERYWHERE!
I can live in the presence of God because I know God is present! HE IS RISEN! I could ask for nothing more.
I invite you to try "chilling out" and let Christ, your Light, be your warmth and security, day after day!
"Our Resurrection Reflections will be continued after Nov. 23rd. We will be with thousands of teens at a Youth Conference and our time to write our reflections will be very limited. We look forward to sharing with you after the 23rd!
