The Annunciation by Henry Ossawa Tanner 1898
It has been a busy time and we could not get out our blogs as often as we would have liked to, but today, the first Monday of Advent, it is good to be back again! Advent blessings to each of you who may read this!
Already we are praying the incarnational grace of Jesus' coming into our world as one of us. Already in the womb, Mary ponders this miracle like none other. How can this be? We often ask that same question when either great joy or great sorrow or perplexity visit us.
Mary is told, "Nothing is impossible with God!" Do I realize this in the depths of my being? Do I pray with this deep faith burning within me?
While at the NCYC with our teens last week, the excellent speakers shared in so many eloquent and real ways how a person who has a relationship with God, knows that "nothing is impossible." As I pray this day, I cannot help but connect the dots. "Nothing is impossible" with God as Jesus empties himself to become a human person in the generous act of incarnation and redemption. And at the end of his life, too, on the third day, he is RISEN because "Nothing is impossible with God."
Advent is a time of great JOY because of this resounding message! We are never alone. Emmanuel: God is with us!
Listen to the following song by Matt Maher and ponder the great joy that God wants for you! Alleluia!
