Giving Thanks and Remembering
We in New York and on the whole East Coast, give thanks for God's protection during the recent visit of "Sandy" on Monday / Tuesday. Our hearts go out to the families of those who have perished as a result of the storm, as well as to those who now face the challenge to rebuild.
I picked the picture for today to symbolize a quieter, more peaceful time by the water. St. Ignatius tells us to have a good "spiritual memory" as we go through life, especially when we meet adversity and hardships. It is good to remember, to look back upon the blessings we have had, and upon all the ways God has helped us in the past. God will help us again. This is our faith. Blessings to all who read this!
