Through the Cross and Death to Resurrection and Glory!

This scene from the movie The Passion of the Christ brings home to me the great love that Jesus had for me.   It was a love that motivated him during his agonizing walk to Calvary and kept him alive to finish the work he had come to do -- the "work" of loving me and each person who has ever or will ever live.   That means Jesus loves me and my relatives and friends, as well as those I have "difficulty" loving.   Jesus does not withhold love from those who scorn him, beat him, or nail him to the cross.  Jesus does not go to the cross only for those who will be grateful and remember this act of love throughout history.   Jesus' love was unconditional, plain and simple.

Why does it take so much effort for me to do likewise?   Why do I struggle to love t

hose I find "difficult" in my life?  This too, is part of the effort it takes for me to die to

self and rise to a more supernatural life of love for Him.  Jesus, my Resurrection and Life, grant

that I may offer my sufferings and effort of daily life so that I may rise to a deeper love of you and

be with you forever in the glory of the risen life promised to all who love and believe in you.  This

dying and rising is the Resurrection Way.
